Immigrants

I had the privilage to visit NY a couple of days ago. The Museums and the people always find a way to change and reform my heart again and again -the lessons I've learned are already in my (overweight) luggage.

This time, I had a wonderful talk with a precious friend, an immigrant too. We talked about the challenges and the perpetual fight, the struggles and the rewards only another immigrant would understand. Specially in the art education field. You see, we, immigrants are constantly stepping outside our comfort zone. We are not breathing our initial habitat air. We keep adapting to new environments and consistencies. We change our skin every-single-day. Stronger we become, bigger we become.

A step before entering the world of Picabia

What about you my friend?

When was the last time you took this step?

When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone?

By the way, this is one of my favourite photos I've ever taken. This guy was standing there in front of the exhibition entrance for a couple of minutes. Seemed so fragile and uncertain. Strong and confident. In case you are wondering, after this photo, he did the step. He entered the world of one of the most evolving artists of his time, the world of #picabia
